Free Mold and Moisture Training for Construction Crews
A 30-minute session for your superintendents and trade foremen on how water gets into wood-frame buildings, the three moments that decide whether they grow mold, and what to do in the first hour after a leak. No cost, and no sales pitch.
Four topics, built from real jobsites.
Why wood-frame jobs grow mold
Open framing, rain, stored materials and humidity. What mold needs, and why most of it starts as a small water event nobody logged.
The three moments that matter
Framing before dry-in, walls before drywall, and gypcrete while it cures. What to look for at each one and the moisture readings that decide whether to close in.
The first hour after a leak
Stop the water, pull or dry the right materials, set fans and dehumidifiers, and write it in the moisture log so it gets checked.
When to call an industrial hygienist
Which situations a superintendent can handle, and which need an outside inspection and written verification before the walls are closed.
We come to you.
Most teams book it as a lunch or a safety meeting. Greg Michelsen, our industrial hygienist, or Jerad Szadkowski gives the session and stays for questions.
- Who it is for. Superintendents, assistant superintendents, project managers and trade foremen.
- Where. In person at your office or jobsite in DC, Maryland and Virginia, or by video anywhere.
- Real examples. Photos and moisture readings from wood-frame projects we have inspected.
- A field guide for every attendee. One page with the moisture numbers, the first hour after a leak, the water log and when to call.

Pick a date that works for your team.
Tell us where and roughly how many people, and we will call to set the date.
- Building something now? Ask about the Three Phase Program and the Moisture Management Program at the same time.
Common questions.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no charge for the session in DC, Maryland or Virginia, or by video. We do it because crews that know what to look for call us earlier, when problems are small.
Is this a sales presentation?
No. It is a training session. We mention our programs once at the end, in case your project needs outside inspections.
Can we do it on a jobsite?
Yes. A jobsite trailer or a site walk works well, because we can point at real conditions on your building.
How long does it take?
About 30 minutes plus questions, including a short hands-on exercise with the water event log and a five-question check. We can shorten it to fit a toolbox talk.
Do you offer a longer training?
Yes. Our full mold awareness training runs about two hours and adds water categories in depth, mitigation and remediation basics, protective equipment and post-remediation verification. Ask about it when we call to set the date.
