Prescient Environmental, Inc. is a Silver Spring, Maryland consulting firm founded in 2024 by Greg Michelsen and Jaroslav "Jerad" Szadkowski. We inspect, test and verify. We never sell remediation, so our only product is an honest answer.

Most mold and asbestos "inspections" are sold by the company that wants to do the removal. We built Prescient Environmental to be the other kind of firm: the one that works for you, documents what is actually there, and gives you a report that holds up with insurers, adjusters, attorneys, lenders and contractors.
- Our work follows ANSI/IICRC S520, AHERA and the DC DOEE mold regulations, the standards insurers and regulators rely on.
- We review remediation scopes and cost estimates from third-party contractors so our clients pay a fair price for the right work.
- We verify the work when it is done, and we say so in writing only when the data supports it.

Greg leads the inspections and writes the reports. His career in the mold and asbestos industry has been built on hands-on field work and continuous training, and on a simple belief: everyone deserves to live and work in a building where mold and asbestos have been found and dealt with, not covered up. Clients know him for patient explanations and for picking up the phone.

Jerad co-founded Prescient Environmental with a vision of a company that goes beyond industry standards: transparent, honest assessments and a firm that is a partner to its community, not just a vendor. He inspects alongside Greg and runs everything that brings clients to the door: the website, advertising and marketing, social media and client acquisition. He also leads the firm's community work, including the Downstream Revival Earth Day cleanup of Little Creek in Silver Spring.
